The golden age of new energy heavy-duty trucks has arrived.
In the first 11 months of this year, the sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks exceeded 161000 units, a year-on-year surge of 189. It should be noted that only 25000 units were sold in 2022. In just three years, sales have increased six times. Based on this trend this year, it is likely to directly exceed 170000 units. According to the annual reports of China Automotive Research Institute and the Ministry of Transport last year, the total number of heavy-duty trucks currently in use is 9 million, of which 55% are used for long-distance transportation, and the remaining 4 million are used for short distance transportation in areas such as coal mines and ports, as well as urban waste. In 27 years, the Chinese government has required the transportation sector to achieve carbon neutrality in areas such as Beijing Tianjin Hebei, the Pearl River Delta, and the Yangtze River Delta. Heavy trucks need to be 100% converted to new energy, and the outbreak of new energy heavy trucks is destined to be a stage. The first stage is to lead the market, which is currently the current one. The second stage is to wait for the maturity of solid-state battery and fuel cell technologies to relay long-distance transportation heavy trucks. It is expected that in the next five years, almost all 4 million short distance heavy trucks will be replaced. Next is the civilian landing of solid-state batteries, which will be replaced in the long-distance market once they are mass-produced and installed. In the next 3-5 years, we will seize a window period of 4 million vehicles, among which the parts market and maintenance market are the main areas of the heavy-duty truck aftermarket, and the second-hand car market is also a fresh field. All fields urgently need to learn new energy heavy-duty truck technology, and it is difficult to get a share of it without understanding the technology. We are currently far ahead in terms of technical training for maintenance in China, but we are also developing technical training for parts and used cars to enable more people to understand new energy for heavy-duty trucks, seize the trend of the times, grasp policy trends, and share the dividends of the times.
